Bill Houze

After attending Georgia Tech and Georgia State and spending a stint in the Navy, Bill was prepared to pursue a career in accounting and finance. However in 1975, he entered the insurance business as an agent and Financial Planner with National Life of Vermont.

Bill quickly found out his forte was not selling mom and pop across the dining room table. His business and interests soon gravitated to the business insurance arena and employee benefits. Since that time Bill has enjoyed a very successful career and has assimilated a very efficient staff of eleven full time employees and over fifty part-time Benefit Counselors, who handle benefits enrollment for a large number of employer groups.

What Bill says he is most proud of is the fact that his firm has been able to master the technology needed to keep Houze & Associates ahead of their competition in providing administration, enrollment and service to their clients. Bill is also very proud that his daughter, Stacey Weldon joined the firm as Vice President in 2003 and contributes strongly to their success.

Bill has always been a workaholic, but seems to find time to kindle his passion for travel. His wife Charlotte says that his hobbies are working and traveling. However, his latest passion is his grandchildren.

Over the years, Bill has held various leadership positions in industry associations and organizations, as well as received many industry awards and accolades, including Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table and Top of the Table.
